Crash and burn

People who know me well will know that my perseverance is extremely limited. Which is why if I were to go on a diet, it'll never happen any longer than a day, or if I were determined to sleep at 12:00am and wake up at 8:00am to fix my jet lag, it won't happen.

And it didn't. Ended up sleeping at 3 and waking up at 11am... and I have uni starting tomorrow, which means... well, waking up at 5:30? Looks like I'll be needing to set about 10 alarm clocks, because I've developed the ultimate bad habit of switching off my alarm clock subconsciously and waking up 2 hours later in a huge panic. Don't think that will be the best way to start my final year of uni.

Last day of February! Let's get some updating going before uni work piles in and blog entries become sparse. SINGAPORE! But before that:
From Sister's trip to Sydney
Flavours: (clockwise from green) pistachio, orange, chocolate coated mint, pancake and maple syrup, caramel salt, raspberry and chocolate, rosewater. There was also Milo, which was a darker green with chocolate filling, but it wasn't defrosted when we got there.
I forgot to post this on Valentine's Day. My brother and I went to Adriano Zumbo's new cafe at Rozelle, just for the fun of it because we have only visited the old one before. Took a bus, and usually I would have this massive problem with taking bus on an unknown route because I won't know when to get off.

No trouble anymore. I type the final address (or check 131500 for the closest bus stop and type that) into the gps on my phone. It's a great way to know when to get off~ thanks icie for the tip.

Their wonderful hot chocolate stays the same. Deliciously bitter-dark. The disappointment lies in the fact that the cafe no longer serves dessert dishes anymore. It's really just pies and tarts that run out early, and macaroons... no more syringes or Miss Marple deconstruct.. =(

So onwards!

Plane food 1. Bleh.

Plane food 2. Better, but still, bleh.

Checked in at Sheraton Towers wedding suite: Shanghai themed.

From Hong Kong Trip
Unfortunately, it was mainly room service in Singapore because it was complimentary with the wedding suite. I stayed there the first night with my sister, not M, because he's meant to come in and get her the next morning for tea pouring ceremony.

That day, my sister took me to a shopping centre. Unfortunately, I've forgotten where it was, but there was plenty of cute restaurants inside.

From Hong Kong Trip
Decided to try a small cake just for the fun of it~

From Hong Kong Trip
You can't see the layers, but it's there.

From Hong Kong Trip
Following that will be a whole rant about room service.

From Hong Kong Trip
If it wasn't complimentary, we wouldn't be doing this to ourselves. Room service dinner is a definite please-do-not-try thing. Laksa that costs over $20SING, which is extremely overpriced considering how the street sells nasi lemak and chicken rice for $1.70.

From Hong Kong Trip
Take one look and give a rating. Fried rice with fried crab claws?? For over $20??

From Hong Kong Trip
SUPER diluted milo and bad coffee... it said on the price list that this milo costs $10. I can buy a 2kg can of milo powder for that price and eat it till milo comes out of my nose.

From Hong Kong Trip
After room service, we headed to Lau Pa Sat for satay. Snail thingies which I love~ pull it out with the toothpick and it unravels before coiling back into shape XD

From Hong Kong Trip
Rojak! The REAL kind, not the ones they serve at Mamak's.

From Hong Kong Trip
Couldn't get a better picture of the satay but they weren't THAT burnt...

From Hong Kong Trip
Oh look it's room service again. Enough said.

Breakfast looks decent? You can't go wrong with eggs and tomato and toasts~ so it wasn't too bad, but we were in a hurry to do other stuff, namely get the hair/makeup done, and for me to plan how to gatecrash the groom when he comes to collect my sister.

And it's lunchtime!

I know. I wonder if he will ever open up an actual cafe that serves those dishes again...
